Despite a drop in the sports betting sector of the industry, Michigan's online gambling revenue grew 7.6% year over year in January.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, total revenue from online gambling in January was $356.3 million. Although it was down 10.9% from December, this was still higher than the prior year.

The month's gross iGaming receipts were $298.3 million, 20.2% more than January 2025. However, gross receipts from online sports betting fell 30.1% to $58 million.

Adjusted revenue, which took promotional expenditures into account, increased 12.3% to $323.3 million from the previous year. While adjusted sports betting receipts decreased 32.5% to $37 million, adjusted iCasino receipts increased 22.8% to $286.3 million.

Customers of Michigan sportsbooks wagered $491.3 million online, representing an 11.5% decline in handle. This led to a 7.53% adjusted revenue and an 11.8% statewide hold based on gross receipts.

In Michigan, FanDuel and MotorCity are still in the lead.

In terms of operators, FanDuel and its affiliate MotorCity Casino dominated the online sports betting and online casino industries in January. The relationship brought in $73.3 million in gross revenue and $70.4 million in adjusted revenue for iCasino.

With $65.8 million in gross receipts and $63.2 million in adjusted revenue, MGM and BetMGM were still in second place. With $45.5 million and $43.7 million, respectively, DraftKings and the Bay Mills Indian Community came in third.

FanDuel and MotorCity reported $14.6 million in adjusted receipts and $22.8 million in gross receipts from sports betting. This put hold at 13.47% based on gross receipts and a handle of $168.3 million.
